In her first art exhibition Playing Pretend, Mikaela explores the childhood feeling of unburdened joy, and how it becomes lost as we grow up. When playing pretend and wishing to be a grown up as a kid becomes real, how does one embrace that feeling of play and happiness in an increasingly depressing world? Through the use of colorful imagery and toy sculptures, she sets off to answer these questions in an uplifting installation.
