Graduation Piñata is an interactive performance piece. Graduating from college is a celebratory event, filled with congratulations and parties, but it also signifies the beginning of ‘adult’ life and the start of student loan payments. Partygoers are invited to participate by donning a graduation cap and hitting the piñata. The piñata is made to represent Green Hall, which houses the Administrative departments at TCNJ. Inside, partygoers found pompoms, confetti, pretend money, hundred grand and payday candy bars, and receipts of my own personal student loans totalling $31,000. The cost of a college education is high, and I will be paying it off for the rest of my life. Time to celebrate!
